The role of &#8220;Toastmaster&#8221; as meeting leader for social and civic clubs no longer exists. The closest thing we have now is the MC, Master of Ceremonies or Chair of the Meeting. The reality of Toastmasters is experientially congruent with confidence building, leadership development, presentation improvements, speaking and communication craft and group development (leading meetings, runing projects, etc.).
